More Shakespeare. More Good Times

August, 2022 i played a part in "The Merry Wives of Windsor." I played the preening, clueless Abraham Slender, a perfectly awkward suitor to the disinterested Ann Page in Shakespeare's classic rom-com. Here you see me playing the role in full-nerd mode, failing to impress the exasperated Miss Ann, played by the wonderful young actor Rianna Makow. In my defense, suave is hard to do.

The play was produced by New Deal Creative Arts, a fantastic, up-and-coming theater organization putting on shows in Hyde Park, New York. Their recent shows have included "Romeo and Juliet," "Something Rotten," and a list of plays cast entirely with young people just getting into live theater for the first time. New Deal is a wonderful group, and I look forward to the many shows they are putting on in the future.

Needless to say, "Merry Wives" included a great cast of local actors, some with whom I have had the pleasure of doing Shakespeare in the past. I love live theatre.
