Going on and on about "Jason and the Argonauts.

Just yesterday in another blog post I made a reference to "Jason and the Argonauts." So now I'm going to blog about it again. I love the movie. But you know, it's actually not a very good movie. The characters are not developed and the plot is poorly constructed. And yet it holds a special place in my heart and the hearts of a lot of people who grew up watching it and decided to get into movies in small part because of it. For all it's inadequacies, it features two of the greatest popcorn cinema sequences ever filmed: the Talos sequence and the fight with the skeletons. These scenes are what movies are really all about: escapism and pure, unpretentious entertainment that has a good nature at it's heart. I'm not being facetious when I say I'd love to do the skeleton fighting scene. So, here's a youtube video of a small part of it. I'm a popcorn cinema geek and proud of it.
